I am restoring a 1955 M38A1 and am looking for any hints, suggestions, or tips I can get. I am close to lifting the tub. How did you guys do this and what type of rigs and stands did you use? Who would you suggest for engine and transmission and transfer case overhaul?

Thanks! I know I will have questions. I am down to removing the tub to frame bolts and then I will be ready for lifting. I am following the 8014, the 8015, and the Jeep CJ Rebuilder's Handbook. Plus posts and pictures from Willysmjeeps.com and g503.com. I am leaning toward buying an engine hoist to lift the tub and put it on saw horses. I thought about just calling 3 or 4 friends to lift but then I would be tied to their availability and with my own hoist, I can lift and move and reposition the tub anytime I am ready. I am also setting up a web site through earthlink (they give ya the space, might as well fill it) to post pictures and videos of the work done.
