Wondered why there was Inside Rear Lug Nuts onthe Front Wheels of a WW II GMC Deuce & Half! So I searched the Internet for WW II Military Vehicles and noticed that many of the Cargo Trucks with Dual Rear Wheels had the Rear Lug Nuts on the Front Wheels. I didn't notice if this was common to Front Winch Trucks only, but I found a picture of a Boom mounted on the front of a Deuce & Half. This Boom was seen broken down in 2 parts and mounted on the sides of the Cargo Bed. It was assembled and mounted to the main frame, behind the front bumper with the Winch Cable passed throe the Pulley Head. Support Cables attached to the back sides of the truck. Now, picking up heavy items may possibly bust the Front Tires, So 2 rear wheels could be moved to the front to handle the heavy lift. This explains the Rear Inside Lug Nuts on the Front Wheels. Chuck, I need your Phone Number so I can share it with Leslie Horton at American Legion Post 28, (Duncan Park) This is so she can call and ask for Truck and Driver when they need one. John W. told me that you guys cannot ask for any payment for the Truck Use. So Leslie knows that You Can except a Donation as thanks for the Truck Use. I pushed for a standard of $50 to cover fuel expense. I did this as an American Legion Member and not as a Club Member. (Not associated) LOL! ;D
